About Howard
Hey There!
I’m the LEGO® Professor of Management and Innovation at IMD business school in Switzerland. People often ask, what’s it like? Well, I love bringing a touch of fun to the world of business.
I direct the Center for Future Readiness, which has been producing a biannual ranking that measures the preparedness of industry players for upcoming challenges. The LEGO Brand Group, the Danish toy maker you might know for their colorful bricks and minifigs, backs our ongoing study.
In 2018, I published my first book, “LEAP: How to Thrive in a World Where Everything Can Be Copied,” through PublicAffairs (Hachette). Since then, I’ve been on a mission to help companies become future-ready.
At IMD, I direct executive training for a range of global companies, and I strive to turn the classroom into a laboratory for ideas. Holding a doctoral degree in management from Harvard Business School and being a former banker in Hong Kong, I believe growth is for everyone.
When I’m not teaching in Lausanne, Switzerland, or living in New York City, you might find me hiking up Mont Blanc in the summer (since I can’t ski) or slurping seafood in Hong Kong, where I grew up.
